San Diego: Carlsbad Flower Fields 2017
In preparation for my upcoming visit to the Carlsbad Flower Fields, I thought I’d share some snapshots of my trip from last year. If you’re not familiar, Carlsbad is in Northern San Diego. It’s home to Legoland, some amazing beaches, and 50 acres of colorful blooms that make up the Flower Fields.
I went with my dear friend Rafa, who is as much of a botanical lover as I am. It was a really special time going with him, and we were both really excited that we got to go together.
The flower fields are set up so that there are several pathways into the field that you can walk in. The area is fairly small, so it can get crowded when large groups of people are all trying to take photos in the same places. It’s inconvenient, but it keeps the flowers safe and happy for the three months that the fields are open.
You can sit on the benches provided, crouch down to try and make it look like you’re sitting in a field of flowers, or risk getting yelled at by crossing into the field and actually stand in the middle of a field of flowers.
I’ll let this be a preview for now, but check back in a few weeks to see some more snaps of the flower fields in full bloom.
