San Francisco: Painted Ladies
The painted ladies are a group of Victorian style homes in San Francisco, near Alamo Square, painted with bright colors and embellished with perfect little details.
There’s a beautiful small grassy area across the street that’s great for picnics, plus you can see the backdrop of the city skyline behind the homes. This soft yellow is probably my favorite house. I love the lattice detailing, and the way that the color looks against the backdrop of the city.
It may seem a little overrated to go and visit a row of homes, but it’s actually one of the most photographed spots in the city, and I definitely think it’s worth the trip.
In the five times that I’ve visited San Francisco, I’ve actually only visited the painted ladies once. They’re a little bit out of the way, which is a bummer, but on my next trip to the bay area, I’m going to make a point to revisit.
When I went, I didn’t have my DSLR, and my focus was more on capturing cute photos for my instagram, instead of taking lots of photos that capture the beauty and details of these homes.
You can find them between Steiner St & Hayes St in San Francisco city.
